AZILUS 250 is composed of Azithromycin 250 Mg Tablet. Azithromycin is used for the treatment of a wide variety of bacterial infections in the body. It belongs to the class of macrolide-type of antibiotics. Azithromycin is an antibacterial medicine that is useful in the treatment of several conditions arising because of bacterial infections inside the body. These bacterial infections include respiratory infections, sexually transmitted infections, skin infections, ear infections, etc. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria inside the body and killing them to remove them from the body.

It is to be taken carefully and only to treat bacterial infection and not other infections caused by some other kind of organisms. Thereby it is not to be used for viral infections as it won’t be effective on viruses. Make sure that you don’t use this medicine unnecessarily for treatment of conditions other than bacterial infection or prolonged treatment of bacterial infection as well. This is because the unnecessary medication can make the tablet ineffective in future bacterial infections.

Take this medicine orally in quantity and dosage as prescribed by your doctor. Dosage and frequency are based on the severity of the medical condition, age of the patient, effect of the medicine on infection, and other physiological conditions. Do not change the dosage on your own without consulting your doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine just because the symptoms have been cured. Continue the medicine for the full prescribed length.

Tell your doctor about your entire medical history and any other medication that you are taking simultaneously. This is to ensure the safety of Azithromycin on administration into the patient’s body. If the patient takes antacids being on this medication, then take it with a feasible gap between the two medications. If the antacid contains aluminium or magnesium, then take azithromycin after at least 2 hours of taking the antacid. This is because presence of aluminium or magnesium can make it difficult for Azithromycin to work efficiently.
