Amikacin 100 + Methyl Paraben 0.18 % + Propyl Paraben 0.02% Injection – This injection contains the capacities of Amikacin, Methyl Paraben, and Propyl Paraben that put together and comes up with an injection called AMISTEN 100 INJ.

Amikacin – Amikacin belongs to the class of drugs called aminoglycoside antibiotics that are used to treat certain serious bacterial infections such as infection of the membranes that encircle the spinal cord and brain (meningitis), stomach area (abdomen), bones, lungs, joints, skin, urinary tract, and infections of the blood.

Methyl Paraben – Methyl Parabens are anti-fungal agents that are the most prevalent parabens which prevent germ growth or growth of harmful bacteria in the body.

Propyl Paraben – Propyl Parabens are preservatives with anti-microbial activities that are easily immersed through the skin and gastrointestinal tract, used to prevent microbial contamination.

How Should this Injection be Used?

This injection comes in the form of liquid that is to be injected intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle) every 8 to 12 hours, i.e., twice or thrice a day. The injection can be injected either by a doctor or by the patient himself. If it is provided by the health expert to be administered by the patient at home, it should be followed with proper instructions and directions given by the health professional. Make sure to understand all the instructions clearly and if not, then ask the doctor or else go to the doctor to get it injected.

  1. Use the injection until the prescription is finished even if the symptoms get better.
  2. Stop injecting the injection if the situation doesn’t improve even after the few days of the prescription.
